Food Protection ProgramQVHD's goal is to reduce the public risk of foodborne disease through our food service inspection and education programs. Proper food handling, cooking and storage of foods are essential in preventing foodborne illness. QVHD conducts routine inspections of all food service establishments, including, but not limited to restaurants, grocery stores, school cafeterias, snack bars and assisted living facilities. We also regulate temporary food events including, but not limited to, fairs, carnivals and fundraisers where food will be served to the public. Food safety is a concern in all aspects from farm to table. It is important that farmers, vendors, and market masters be familiar and comply with the applicable food safety regulations at the farmers' market.
