EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS |
Volunteer Information
An unexpected emergency event is, as it states, “unexpected” and “an emergency.” Therefore, no one can be sure what tasks will need to be accomplished by a volunteer work force. However, one common factor through an emergency event is that a response will need to be rapid and will require volunteers who can respond quickly to the call for help. An example of what QVHD might need to do is mass dispensing of medications to the entire community population should a pandemic flu occur. To accomplish this, QVHD will set up Point of Dispensing (POD) sites. Many volunteers will be needed for the PODs to operate. You can be part of the team that protects you, your family and your community! While we don't know what event will call the volunteer team into action, we know there will be many roles on this response team to be filled with people who are committed to helping others. You don't need to have a particular skill; just a willingness to help out. If you would like to be involved and play a critical role in emergency response, please complete the volunteer application. If you have further questions, please contact Betty, at QVHD, 248-4528. CLICK HERE FOR THE VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FORM For our current and valued registered QVHD volunteers, QVHD has added a link to our website specifically for the purpose of helping you to stay informed and prepared. Information, links to other useful websites such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and to on-line training opportunities will be made available. Please visit the site on a regular basis for updated information. |
